Jim Sherwin

Jim Sherwin is the managing director of Sherwin Media Group (SMG) which was established in 1976. Jim has had a long and successful career as a broadcaster, sports commentator and Producer. He was RTÉ’s main commentator at 8 Olympic Games from Munich to Athens.

His rugby commentaries on Radio and TV began in 1970 and ended at the Rugby World Cup in Sydney Australia in 2003. He commentated for over 20 years on racquet sports for RTÉ TV including Wimbledon and Roland Garros and was RTÉ’s main commentator on all major non sporting outside broadcasts including installation of Presidents, live transmissions of visiting celebrities and state funerals.

Jim has produced many films and documentaries on a wide range of subjects including health, sport and other social areas.

Jim approached RTÉ with an idea he had for a walking programme. His idea is now in its 6th series and has become one of RTÉ’s most successful walking series, Tracks and Trails. The programmes have also been shown in Australia and on transatlantic flights.

With Jim’s vast experience and wealth of knowledge in the media business he offers clients a full and innovative consultancy service for all communicative purposes drawing on experience in broadcasting, public relations and multi-media production.

Jim’s other interests include being a member of the Council of the of the Royal Victoria Eye & Ear Hospital, Chairman of the Rooney Prize for Irish Literature, member of the Ireland Fund, consultant contributor to the Encyclopaedia of Ireland and past Chairman of the Board of Governors of St. Gerard’s School.

John Sherwin

After graduating with an honours BA from TCD, John completed his stockbrokers exams and worked for 2 years with Goodbodys Stockbrokers. Since then he has travelled extensively working in financial services in many countries around the world.

On returning to Ireland John joined SMG and produced a documentary with Mark Pollock whom he met in Trinity. The documentary was broadcast on RTÉ 1 and it was called The Race of No Return.

In his role as Production Supervisor in SMG, John is in charge of all the technical issues associated with the production and works closely with the film crews. He also supervises the entire post production element.

In addition to his work with SMG, where he is a director, John has set up his own company Videosonthenet which in addition to providing facilities to SMG has contracts with several companies. These involve live streaming events both commercial and sporting.

Sarah Louise Brown

Joining Sherwin Media Group in March 2017, Sarah is the production coordinator for SMG’s successful television programme Tracks and Trails, now into its eighth series.

Sarah has worked in London and the United States for corporate and SME’s organisations. Since moving to Dublin she worked as a principle designer, project coordinator and ran a voluntary network for design professionals.

Her role at SMG, involves assisting on various aspects of pre-production, filming and post production, reporting directly to the Producer. She is the first point of contact for SMG, manages the day-to-day running of the office and maintains the company’s control accounts.

In recent years, Sarah graduated from IADT, Dun Laoghaire, with a first class Bachelor of Business honours degree, Post Graduate Certificate in Digital skills and MA in Public Culture.

Here she further developed her interest in arts management, performance, visual culture and business administration.
