Philip’s first walk starts in Glengarriff Nature Reserve, which covers some 300 hectares, and is an important woodland reserve in Ireland. Phillip meets Claire Heardman, a park ranger and they walk the 3km Esknamuckey Loop. She points out trees species, flora and fauna native to the woodland loop. Phillip reaches the viewing point called Lady Bantry’s Look Out, where he finds spectacular views of Bantry Bay and beyond.
