Featuring: Niall Breslin, Mary Bannon & James Crombie

About
Bláthnaid visits Mullaghmeen Forest in North Co.Westmeath where she takes some time out along the trails here, to listen and breathe in the quiet of the nature around her and to meet another local, Niall Breslin.  Niall talks to Bláthnaid about the benefits of nature for our health and wellbeing and the importance for us all to get outside, wherever we live,  for fresh air and exercise and to slow down.

For the last trail on Bláthnaid’s trip to Co. Westmeath, she visits Belvedere House and Gardens and Park.  Not only does the estate have a fascinating history told to her by guide Mary Bannon, there are also endless woodland and parkland trails here to explore which weave around the estate’s stories.  Belvedere Estate faces Lough Ennell and having taken some time to explore the gardens, it is here on the shore of Lough Ennell that Bláthnaid meets James Crombie, another local.  James Crombie is a well known sports photographer who earlier year took the now world famous photo of the starling murmurations on  Lough Ennell.  They chat about the how the photo came about.  Bláthnaid finishes her journey through the trails of Westmeath here in Belvedere House, Gardens and Park.
