Wexford, Ferrycarrig, Carrigfoyle & Forth Mountain, Presented by Pól O Conghaile.
Presenter
Pól O Conghaile
Featuring: Michael Brazzill & Deirdre O’Flynn.
About
This section of Pól’s walk slowly ascends as Pól walks through time, so far he has seen early Irish and Viking settlements, Norman towers and now gets to 1798, as the three rocks trail takes in two important 1798 sites.
He meets Michael Brazzill, who helped establish these trails and whose knowledge of 1798 history in this area helps Pól to imagine exactly what took place along the trail.
Much of this walk has been along roads and bohreens, before getting on an off-road trail to Carrigfoyle Lake, after a pitstop here, he takes a short linking section of road before turning onto the off road again towards Drooping Rock and Forth Mountain where he meets Deirdre O’Flynn. Deirdre practices mindfulness and shows Pól the practice of mindful walking. Into the last stages of the walk now, he follows a gentle uphill slope towards Skeater rock to finish his walk on a high point of Forth Mountain with views across Wexford.
