Galway is one of the most popular counties in Ireland and is well known for its natural beauty. Connemara has some of the most impressive coastal hikes in the country. The steep ascents along the coastal edge provides a vantage point with panoramic views of Clifden bay and its many islands. Co. Galway has a host of attractive get away walks and hikes, there are bays and natural beauty everywhere, scenic mountains, expanses of bogs, heaths, grasslands and woodlands.
TV presenter Darren Frehill continues his journey on the banks of Lough Derg and walks down memory lane having played here as a child. Among many other delights on his walk, he wanders into Castlelough forest in Tipperary to find a beautiful carpet of bluebells that appear for a short time each year.
