About
Walk through the Garden of Ireland with The Happy Pear twins David and Stephen Flynn and learn about many of Wicklow's natural wonders.
Only one hour from Dublin city Centre, Avoca is where this walk begins and once David & Stephen leave their starting point at The Meeting of the Waters beside Avoca Village, they rise gradually to reach a peak at the Motte Stone before slowly descending to arrive back at the Meeting of the Waters again.
This walk passes through some of the most historic and scenic parts of County Wicklow. The first section of the trip runs alongside the Avoca River and after about 20 minutes walking David and Stephen turn left over a bridge which takes them into the mining zone, the mines operated from the late 1700s until 1982 but their legacy remains and is visible everywhere. David and Stephen discover there is something for everyone here, from history to nature, from scenery to wild life.
